| Abstract: | The villages of Nandagane, Kirunde, and Golewadi have been faced with the recurring menace of landslides, resulting in multiple lives lost and decimation of lives and property that are pivotal in stabilizing socioeconomic statuses over the decades. The societies thus found themselves in a place of extreme precariousness combining livelihood sustenance together with an agenda of living safely. In recognizing the urgency of such a request, ASTHITAV: WAI-RELOCATION PROJECT aims to develop adequate housing through traditional architectural practices native to Maharashtra. Additional units of traditional architecture are within reach of 200, with the added nuance of resiliently and culturally appropriating it all along framework starting with planning. The thesis derives inspiration from the formulation and adaptation of traditional building methods to modern buildings, incorporating safety while stressing cultural layers to include within the architectural matter and Rodas dreamt similar. The project has huge availability for economic feasibility hoping to use housing schemes that are best and feasible on a reasonably large scale to touching the lips of others for the fortunes of the vulnerable. High-level planning must go beyond immediate attention to sustainable thinking about the titration of the landmarks the relocation may affect in the environment and social structures. Concern for public space outlets to community areas of interaction culturally enriches the layout of housing units. The changeover from a mode of abandonment to active consideration for the culture and lives of the communities forced to relocate redefined this act of relocation into a cohesive and sustainable cause. |
