dc.description.abstract | Culture is one thing that helps a community continue to exist as a unique entity. A group of people's arts and practices are considered their culture, according to the Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English. It may also refer to a group of people's way of life. Essentially, culture is made up of all the distinctive values and ideas that create a people group's or community's way of life, identity, artistic creations, and intellectual accomplishments (Rapoport, 2006). A person's perception of their own culture is their cultural identity. According to Charith (2011), cultural identification is the influence one acquires from being a member of a certain group or culture. Cultural centers serve as the hub for cultural events, therefore when designing them, designers must ensure that the cultural group they are intended to serve is reflected in their design. | en_US |
